This 87 page book contains valuable information and hand-drawn maps for water travellers covering Alberta sections of the AMVR, including the Clearwater, Athabasca, Slave and Peace Rivers. A Partnership Strategy for the AMVR - Discussion Document ($2.00 + shipping) French or English
Produced by the AMVRA in cooperation with parks Canada, this document outlines a future for the Route by providing background on the Route, other Heritage Route models and logistical considerations. This 47 page ring bound document proposes strategies and roles for individuals, communities and governments.

The Alexander Mackenzie Voyageur Route: a Community Perspective on Waterways and the Development of a Trans-Canada Heritage Route ($50.00)
This hard-bound M.A. thesis (213 pages) presents background information on the AMVR, and the results of a national study exploring the importance of local waterways to Canadian communities, with reflections on development of a National Heritage route.
