There are many things you can do to help ensure that the Alexander Mackenzie Voyageur Route remains a vital, lasting part or our shared Canadian heritage.

If you live along the Route...why not:

• Learn a bit more about your local heritage associated with the Route;
• Identify important heritage resources in your community;
• Participate in, or begin, initiatives for preserving and promoting the Route;
• Share your knowledge with others;
• Distribute brochures to local stakeholders;
• Encourage local officials, parks, organisations and groups to get involved in Route development and preservation;
• Join the Association to show your support;
• Organise a regional chapter or affiliate.

If you don't live along the Route, your help is especially important:

• Learn more about the Route and its National importance;
• Visit Route communities with a view to the rich heritage of associated resources and waterways;
• Let us know where you go, what you do, and how we could help make your experience more complete;
• Talk to local heritage organisations, tourism offices and recreation providers, and inform them about the National scope of the Route;
• Join the Association and offer your support.
